The Measure of Our Success
The true measure of success for any home care organization is how well our patients manage under our care.
At VNS, we know this and take our performance very seriously. It is important for us to have objective measurements to use as tools of self-evaluation.
At VNS, we use one of the industry’s most respected consulting firms, Fazzi Associates, to provide us with patient satisfaction analysis. Discharged patients receive a comprehensive satisfaction survey that asks them (and their families) to evaluate our performance in areas such as thoroughness, knowledge of their needs, communications and interpersonal skills, punctuality, accessibility, caring and concern and overall satisfaction.
Fazzi Associates provides VNS with an analysis of our results, as compared to the results of agencies throughout the United States. We consistently strive to achieve performance within the Top 15% of agencies nationwide.
Physician, Hospital and Other Referral Source Satisfaction
We also periodically survey physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, rehab facilities and other parties who refer patients to us, in order to get their feedback on how well they view us as a valuable source of care for their patients.
Clinical Outcome Measurement
Currently, Medicare provides consumers with a vehicle for comparing the performance of home care agencies, with respect to clinical outcomes. Medicare.gov is their website and has a program called Home Care Compare that allows consumers to compare home care agencies. We’re proud to be one of the best performers in Connecticut for patient outcomes. We encourage consumers to log onto this web site and conduct their own analysis.
