BRIDGEPORT—Jeanne M. Bodyk, R.N., B.S.N, has been named Administrator
and Executive
Vice President of Visiting Nurse Services of Connecticut by the
agency’s board of directors. The
Shelton resident, who reports to the agency’s President and
Chief Executive Officer, has responsibility for day-to-day operations
of the organization, with specific emphasis on clinical activities.
She assumes the position after a lengthy candidate search by board
members that lasted nearly a year.
Bodyk, a graduate of St. Anselm College in New Hampshire, began
her career as a medical
oncology nurse at Bridgeport Hospital. She soon moved to public
health nursing for the Trumbull
Public Health Nursing Association. Shortly thereafter, the Trumbull
association merged with the
Fairfield Visiting Nurse Association under what became the United
Visiting Nurse Association,
which provided home health services for residents of Fairfield County
through its Trumbull offices. In 2005, United merged with Visiting
Nurse Services of Connecticut and became a branch office for
VNS of Connecticut, which is one of the state’s largest nonprofit
home health care organizations, serving patients in Fairfield, New
Haven and Litchfield counties through five branch offices. VNS of
Connecticut was named a national Home Care Elite agency in 2006
and 2007, ranking in the top 25% of all home health agencies across
the country in its care for homebound patients.
